Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins is a beat 'em up in the style of Streets of Rage, but instead of taking control of a couple of meatheads to fight against an array of neighbourhood thugs, here you play with Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Noob Saibot.

No Mortal Kombat game would be the same without a good helping of blood and guts, so whenever you land a blow on one of your enemies you see a huge stream of blood flying across the screen. If you manage to pull off one of the special moves, the effects will be even more exaggerated and gruesome.

The best thing about Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins, however, is the ability to play in coop mode with friends. You just need a couple of controllers and a shared desire to dish out some serious punishment left, right and centre.

Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins is a 2D action title which, by staying true to the classics of the genre, and offering an adventure packed full of action, enemies and blood, proves to be a lot of fun and will be of particular appeal to existing fans of the franchise.
